Before joining the firm, Luca has worked for the Listed Companies Supervision Division at the Italian Stock Exchange and for leading Italian and international law firms in London and Milan.
Luca specialises in financial services and capital markets, advising issuers, funds, banks and other financial institutions.
The capital markets experience covers equity transactions (such as IPOs and rights issues), debt offerings (including structured products and hybrid instruments) and takeovers.
Luca assists banks, fund managers and other financial institutions in a variety of financial services issues, including, MiFID, AIFMD, UCITS, Market Abuse, Short Selling, Insurance Regulations and EMIR.
Other areas of expertise include banking law and company law as well as corporate governance.
Luca has been awarded an LL.M. in European Banking Law and Financial Regulation at the London School of Economics & Political Science and he is author of several publications on financial regulation and company law.
He is regularly invited as speaker at seminars and conferences and, since February 2016, Luca serves as professor of financial regulation at Bocconi University in Milan.
Luca is enrolled at the Milan Bar and he is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as Registered European Lawyer.
Luca has been described by the industry ranking guide Who’s Who Legal 2018 as “Luca Lo Pò is a top name in Italy and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of European and Italian regulation through which he is able to provide rapid, accurate assessments of a situation combined with pragmatic advice”.
